Popular among beer enthusiasts, Grimm Artisanal Ales has established a permanent home in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. For their new taproom, Joe and Lauren Grimm tapped Tri-Lox to develop and build an environment that would reflect their brand and bubbly craft.

Working holistically to meld a production and public space, Tri-Lox worked in close collaboration with the Grimms and inc_a to reimagine this industrial space for Brooklyn’s next wave of local manufacturing with a personal touch.

FITTING IN THE FEATURES

The Grimm taproom centerpiece is a 40-foot continuous wrap-around bar made with a sequenced set of Figured Maple slabs milled from a single tree and punctuated with complimentary bar stools. The airy space unfolds with intimate seating around custom Industry Heart Pine tabletops and coastal vibes against the backdrop of the brewery.

These taproom features were customized and smoothly integrated into the existing envelope of the space.

A CRISP CANVAS

In dialogue with the Grimms’ commitment to craft and artistically adorned cans and bottles, the coveted Figured Maple was strategically incorporated through various areas of the taproom, tying together the elemental space design. We created a crisp canvas for the Grimm product and design to pop in its spectrum of hues and distinct flavors.

Figured Maple – Stone White
Bar and stool top surfaces in our Figured Maple with Stone White finish reveal ribbons of black and gray that thread through the light-toned grain, recalling white marble with the natural warmth of wood.
